    Building on the success of the VP Traffic range of bollard systems, the VP Heavy Duty has been designed as a more robust option for traffic management, capable of stopping a 1,500kg at 32kph (20mph).

    Based on our successful VP automatic bollard range, the VP Heavy Duty can easily be retrofitted into existing systems to upgrade an area with a higher level of security protection. The VP HD Automatic Bollard itself comes in a galvanised finish and fitted with either a polyurethane black sleeve with two yellow reflective bands or a stainless steel sleeve with two black bands.

    As a traffic management system, the bollard can be used alongside a red and green traffic indicator column to instruct drivers when it is safe to pass through the system. Loops are installed within the ground surface on both the vehicle approach and the vehicle exit, which will detect when a vehicle has safely moved through the system and will instruct the bollards to rise when it’s safe to do so.

    Depending on-site needs, we can offer various access control options which include –

    • vehicle tag system
    • number plate recognition
    • CCTV
    • keypad authorisation
    • timing clock

    If an existing access control system is already in place we can integrate the VP HD into it.

    The VP Heavy Duty is ideal for controlling vehicle access to key infrastructure sites with a heavy pedestrian flow such as high streets or urban areas and where the identified threat is from smaller vehicles moving at lower speeds.
