    The Client

Fort Canning Park is located in the central city of Singapore. An iconic hilltop landmark, it features nine historical gardens – the Pancur Larangan, Artisan’s Garden, Sang Nila Utama Garden, Jubilee Park (Phase 1), Raffles Garden, First Botanic Garden, Farquhar Garden, Spice Garden and Armenian Street Park.

    The Challenge

A year after the park had been enhanced and inaugurated, ATG Access Ltd was brought on to secure the site through our exclusive local partner – Lai Yew Seng Pte Ltd.

We were required to liaise closely with multiple government agencies to deliver the scheme to protect this iconic location. Several access points across the site needed to be protected, and the project had to be completed with minimal disruption to residents.

    The Objective

With this particular project, there was a severe limitation on the foundation depth available to install high-security products. This meant that the solutions used were required to offer a high level of crash-tested security, but could only be installed using shallow mount technology.

    The Solution

Having previously secured other high-profile sites in Singapore such as Changi Airport and Orchard Road, which lies adjacent to Fort Canning Park, we were well-positioned to help deliver this perimeter security project.

Utilising our innovative shallow mount technology, the bollards chosen required a foundation depth of just 172mm, making them an ideal choice for a site where space is restricted.

Where vehicle access needed to be controlled, our Cityscape Gate was an ideal solution. As one of the shallowest high-security gates on the market, it offers a high level of impact protection, yet can be installed with a foundation of just 300mm.

At the client’s request, the gate was customised with a sleek black finish, and branded to match the beautiful aesthetics of the environment.

    The Results

Thanks to our local manufacturing capability we were able to deliver the project swiftly over a very short period. This helped to keep disruption around Fort Canning Park to a minimum while we installed the products. Our ability to manufacture in-country helped bring extra value and instil confidence in the client in choosing ATG as a partner.
